It’s my Brithday!

Whoo!  I turn 20 today!  Kinda strange to be out of my teens.  Ah well, here’s to another decade of overzealous gadget worshiping!

I Hate Daylight’s Savings Time…

March 17, 2008

I was on vacation when daylights savings time happened, so all of my portable devices and computers switched over no problem.  However, no one told my alarm clock that DST happened (Even though it’s got date and time zone support O.o;), so today when I told it to wake me up at 9:20, it woke me up at 10:20.  My first class happens to start then, so I had to rush out the door to get there without missing too much.  I really would have liked to take a shower when it finished, but unfortunately my room mate was in it and I had another class.  Man I miss breakfast and showers… >.<

Second Leg of the Trip

I’m afraid that I wasn’t able to find any free wifi hotspots in Dallas, so you’ll be reading both these posts back to back.  The good news is, I was able to get on a flight two hours earlier than mine, so I might be able to get to bed at a decent hour tonight after all.

Unfortunately, the moved up timetable didn’t give me much time to recharge my laptop’s battery.  Dallas’ airport is nice, shiny, and new looking, but offers almost no power outlets.  Luckily my laptop’s has about an hour’s charge on it, so at least I get to use it part of the time.

Normally I would say that I’m “Lucky” to be on a flight with in flight entertainment, but unfortunately what they’re playing on my flight could hardly be called “Entertainment”.  Instead of the normal movie, I’ve got an In Flight “Commercial”.  No joke, they’ve just been playing commercials for half the flight.  We’ve seen a commercial for Scene It, CSI, and 60 Minutes so far.  Sigh…  Man I hate the entertainment industry…

High in the Sky

March 8, 2008
Hey there blogshere, right now I’m currently in between College Station Texas, and Dallas Texas.  Oh, and by the way, I’m also about 12,000 feet in the air, or however high planes fly.  I was planning on trying to do another handwriting entry, but unfortunately the plane’s having a bit of turbulents.  I don’t want you guys to suffer through my shaky handwriting.

Speaking of suffering through shaky things, I decided to try out iTunes new movie rental service.  I’m a huge fan of the Bourne series, but currently do not own the third film, The Bourne Ultimatum.  Unfortunately, it seems that no one decided to tell me that iTunes has a minimum system requirement for video playback.

I’m sorry, but I did not assume that a 1.2 Pentium M with 32mb of video memory would have trouble with choppy video.  I’ve always heard Windows users complaining about iTunes being a memory hog, but it seems that this is the case in point.

Luckily, I’ve already seen The Bourne Ultimatum, and the film’s already very very shaky, so the skipping frames aren’t too bad.  Watching a film also does wonders for nervous fliers like me.  I’ll see if I can’t get this article published in Dallas.  If I do, then expect another one when I reach DC.

Man, typing is so good for shot nerves…

EDIT: Wow, now the plane’s shaking, the film’s shaking, and the movie’s skipping, talk about a cinematic experience.

This is a Test
